Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Volcaro mobile application (the "App"), operated by Volcaro ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, please discontinue use of the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Volcaro. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Account
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@volcaro.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
One person — one account. We may suspend accounts that appear to be automated, duplicated, or abusive.
3. License to Use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Volcaro on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial language learning.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the App or its API
- Upload content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or infringes on intellectual property
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
- Interfere with the operation of the App or its servers
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the App or any content from it
5. AI-Generated Content
Volcaro uses third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) to generate personalized word sets, examples, and illustrations. AI output may occasionally contain inaccuracies, awkward phrasing, or culturally unusual examples. We recommend cross-referencing important information with dictionaries or native speakers.
You may not use AI features to generate content that violates the Acceptable Use rules above.
6. User Content
If you add custom words or sets, you retain ownership of that content. You grant us a limited license to store and synchronize it for the purpose of operating the App.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, logo, and curated word databases, is the property of Volcaro and protected by copyright and trademark law. The name "Volcaro" and the logo are trademarks.
8. Pricing and Payments
Volcaro is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future. Any future paid features will be clearly marked and require explicit opt-in. Existing free features will continue to be available.
9. Service Availability
We strive to keep the App available 24/7, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or interruption.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the App will meet your learning goals, be error-free, or be suitable for any particular language certification or exam.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volcaro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of progress, data, profits, or goodwill — resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
12. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@volcaro.app from your registered address. We process deletion requests within 7 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or abusive behavior.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be notified in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
